How the mural painting process works?

As a mural painter I hand paint murals for all types of clients across the UK, most clients want individuality and something a little different for their home or business.

I have over 15 years of professional experience hand-painting wall murals and wall paint effects, and have a passion for transforming spaces with exciting artwork. I can paint in a wide range of styles, from decorative intricate murals, to cartoon characters, as well as bespoke designed murals and paint effects to suit your brief.

I can work to all scales and budgets, producing either simple colourful wall murals to enhance a room - or completely theme a room with a decorative paint effect in intricate detail. No project is too large or small, and every project is treated with the same personal care and attention.

1. Initial Conversation

Drop me an email with a brief description of the type of mural or theme or paint effect you have in mind, a rough guide to the size of the wall area is also very helpful. If you are able to e-mail me photos of the wall or images of the artwork you like before our first phone call, that is brilliant- or I can come up with lots of ideas for you once I have spoken with you. After a conversation about your requirements, I will then be able to provide you with a free of charge design and quotation.

2. The Creation of the Mural or Paint Effect

If you are happy with my quotation – then the work is booked in on a date convenient to you.

As an experienced mural painter, all of my murals are drawn free hand with no stencilling or projections involved. This allows me to paint your ideas directly onto the wall with no scale or design restriction. Once the mural is sketched out you can then approve the artwork before any painting begins, and at this stage if any amendments are needed they can be done.

If a sample board is required for a specific paint effect, these can be provided.

3. Painting of The Mural or Paint Effect

All my hand painted murals are painted with safe non-toxic low odour emulsions. For heavy traffic locations I use a specialist Diamond Hard paint that can be wiped clean. All my colours are hand mixed on the day so if a specific colour is required or needs to be matched to a fabric – this can be achieved. 

4. Completion of The Mural or Paint Effect

Your custom hand painted mural or paint effect can usually be finished within a few days depending on size and detail level. Once the mural or paint effect is completed it is only a short time before the paint is dry and the room can be used and enjoyed.
