Mural Painting Course
This 1 day course is designed to give you an exciting, fun, and inspiring painting experience, whatever your artistic skill level might be. This unique painting course is for anyone wanting to experience painting and creating a mural.
The course embraces all types of artistic skill level, from the beginner right through to experienced artist. This course is suitable for all artistic abilities and can be adapted to suit the individual.
Joanna runs the course from her home, a Grade II listed Coach House, set in the scenic Cheshire countryside.
You will get to design, develop and paint your own mural painting.
You will learn:
- Composition of a mural
- Image scaling, sketching out and transfer methods
- Large scale painting, fading & blending techniques
- Large scale texture & toning effects, including using natural sponges
- Building Up Shading & Detail
- Various mark making techniques including effects with Chinese brushes
- Free flowing painting technique
- Wild Edging & Outlines
Everyone has their own painting easel, and chair if needed. Professional paints, brushes and mural painting boards are all provided.
How to paint murals
Throughout the morning Joanna will spend time demonstrating a range of mural painting techniques, and you will have fun trying out each technique on a practice board, to see which you enjoy and might want to incorporate into your own mural painting. You will experience creating different effects and experiment with creating textures and mark making.
Joanna's aim is to inspire, encourage and support your individual style as you get to learn and experience a range of painting techniques used specifically for painting mural art.
After trying out a range of exercises with the paint you will then begin work creating your own mural painting. Joanna will guide you through creating the design for your mural, from inspiration, purpose of the piece to scaling and composition of your artwork.
Guidance, advice and tuition will be given throughout the afternoon whilst you start to paint your own unique mural.
You will learn painting tips and tricks from one of the UK’s top mural artists, as she shares her knowledge and breadth of painting experience with you.
Whether you’re new to art, or a seasoned artist wanting to transition to painting murals, this course has everything you need to succeed.
The full 1 day mural painting course is £495 including all materials and equipment.
You will also be awarded a certificate of completion of the one day mural workshop.
Each course has a maximum of 3 participants, enabling Joanna to devote the time and guidance needed to each artist, and give structured tuition, advice and direction to everyone, throughout the day. The day runs from 10am - 3pm
