In fact, I have painted murals across the country from the highlands of Scotland to the beaches of Cornwall and that’s one of the reasons I love my job so much because over the last 16 years of painting bespoke mural art in private homes, businesses, schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, care homes and many other interesting and unusual spaces, I really have seen so many different places in the UK.

I thought I would share some of the different mural projects I have done in some of the many different places I have travelled to in Scotland, England & Wales.

Park Springs Care Home – Motherwell, Scotland

These images above were part of a long corridor mural for a care home, the artwork was commissioned to bring some colour and vintage nostalgia to the resident’s environment.

Hare & Meadow Mural – On Ceramic Tiles – Lake District

     

This mural was located in a tricky area behind an aga, the house was over 400 years old, located in a stunning part of the Lake District, and the owner wanted the tiles brightening up with her favourite animal, the hare, so the artwork was painted in a specialist paint that adhered to the tiles and was heat resistant.

Ocean Sea Indoor Swimming Pool Mural, Barnsley

Still in the North of England, this mural was painted in a client private indoor swimming pool room. The couple loved sailing, and enjoyed the British coastline, so wanted the sea view to have a feel of the British beaches with sand dunes, sea gulls and sea grasses.

 Jungle / Safari Mural Art Painting, Playroom, York

This mural scheme was painted in a playroom in Yorkshire, a very popular mural theme for young children, because its so fun and colourful.

Over the years I have found murals are more popular in certain areas of the country. I do a lot of mural painting in Liverpool, Manchester, Midlands, North Wales, Shropshire and of course my own county of Cheshire.

Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Palm Mural Painting, Birmingham

This mural was for an entrance reception space at the Botanical gardens in Birmingham, the artwork gave the visitor a little taste of what to expect see in the beautiful tropical gardens.

Themed Murals for RAF Wittering, Peterborough Community Centre

We had a tight timeframe and tight budget for this mural scheme at RAF Wittering, it was great fun though, and hugely rewarding to take 3 rooms of the community hall that were just white boring spaces and transform them into bright, energising spaces for the children to enjoy.

  

Outdoor Wisteria, Chinoserie Style Wall Mural Art, London

This mural was hand painted on the outside exterior wall of a house in London, my client couldn’t grow anything up the wall because of the patio, so had the wisteria painted instead, they loved the fact that the plant wouldn’t need any maintenance and would always be in bloom!

Well I have really only just touched on a few projects and locations, over the years I have been to so many beautiful places in the UK painting murals, the stunning countryside of Leicestershire, hamlets of Surrey and Kent, Cambridgshire and Oxford, I will share more places and murals in another blog coming soon.
