Murals for people who suffer with Dementia

Murals for people who suffer with Dementia

17-05-2018

I create hand painted wall art specially designed to bring not only colour to a care home but also reminders of the past - my vintage murals help to bring back memories to the people who suffer with Dementia who use the  environment, see the artwork and then chat about the art and times from their past - murals in care homes really can make a difference to someone who suffers from Dementia.

Care homes these days are now realising more and more that they not only need to deliver a really high standard of care - but they also need to be delivering a high standard when it comes to the environment of the residents, especially those that suffer with Dementia.

The use of bespoke hand painted murals are becoming very much a positive, cost effective, unique way to not only brighten up the corridors and living areas of a care home, but also through the use of vintage styled artwork, the murals bring back happy times and memories for the residents, and the use of themed spaces also helps users to recognise where they are in the care home.

In the past care homes have been quick to add printed vinyl stickers to cheaply brighten up long beige corridors, but it is now becoming clear that there is no longevity in stickers which start to peel off after time, especially in a warmer environment - resulting in a poor and shabby look to the care home.

Hand painted murals can be designed to suit any type of space and any theme required and with the use of my specialist paint they cannot be picked off!
